Cy’s Place is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization providing affordable apartments and support for out-of-town families with immuno-compromised children receiving cancer treatment or an organ transplant at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
Cy’s Place is named after Silas, Randy and Ree Erickson’s amazing little boy who battled cancer with incredible courage. Click here for their story. We created this place for kids like Silas—kids on the mend and the families who love them.
Sick Kids. Big Challenges.
When a kid gets really sick and the doctor says, "I think we need to send your child to the Mayo Clinic," everything changes, right?
Before long another out-of-town family ends up in Rochester, navigating a complex medical world and juggling life in an unfamiliar place. Uncertain about what will happen next. Jobs put on hold. Siblings needing care. Finances stretched. Far from the support systems back home.
Our Mission
Cy’s Place was created to meet the needs of sick kids and their families.
We provide them with a long-term, affordable home-away-from-home. Our private apartment offers a fully furnished living space that prioritizes the cleanliness that kids undergoing cancer treatment and transplants need.
We know Rochester and the Mayo Clinic pretty well—and we also know what its like to be here with a sick kid. We work hard to help.
